About SCC EVENTS GmbH
SCC EVENTS GmbH is one of the largest organisers of major international endurance sports events, including the prestigious BMW BERLIN-MARATHON and the GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON. bytepark has now assisted SCC EVENTS GmbH with the relaunch of the GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON website.
To coincide with the GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON, the website was to be fundamentally revised and migrated to the modern Typo3 content management system (CMS). The goal of the relaunch was to raise the platform to a new, modern level - in both technical and visual terms.
One central concern was the optimisation of the information architecture with a clearly user-centred approach. Particular attention was to be paid to SEO optimisation in order to further improve the findability and visibility of the content. At the same time, the website was to be given a fresh, appealing design that fits in harmoniously with the digital appearance of the event.

Technical Implementation
During the relaunch of the GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON website, the old Typo3 CMS was migrated to the existing Typo3 multisite platform of SCC Events GmbH. Existing content modules and features from other event websites were reused and also optimised. This resulted in an efficient, easy-to-maintain solution that is both simple for editors to use and uncomplicated for IT to maintain.
A key part of the relaunch was the integration of the HALF MARATHON EXPO directly into the website to provide participants, exhibitors and visitors with improved navigation and faster access to relevant information. In addition, the GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON Inlineskating was integrated directly into the platform as an independent event.
